FOMO
Our thoughts can be our best friend or worst enemy…
‘What’s wrong with me’.
‘Everyone else is out being happy and sociable’.
‘Why do I like being alone?’
We all get it. The ‘fear of missing out’.
It’s bank holiday weekend and many people are away, using the long weekend as a chance to get away, connect with loved ones, let loose, and all kinds of things. Just take a look at social media and you’ll see it,
Preempting a quiet weekend, I decided to see if any yogis wanted holistic offerings which they did. I love this and I am so honored to hold that space- it lights me up no end and I’m so lucky to call this my career.
I had the opportunity to go and socialise which I was all for and I did show up but within an hour, a cloud came over me and I wanted to go back to safety.. home.
I realised there may be others who have felt the same at times and maybe I could reassure them and give some tips on how I turned the cloud into sunshine.
1- Stop Scrolling
Take an hour maybe more, to disconnect from social media and take it the joys of your surroundings. Also on this note, is it time for a ‘loving cull’ to detox your social media?
2- Refill Your Cup-
What makes you feel good? I went to the beach with Sasha as I’ve missed her this week, to listen to the healing waves, take in some evening sun and just walk together in silence. A little cup of cheeky hot chocolate from @Rockwater was another hug of love.
3- Take Care of your Tummy-
Make/order a yummy meal. Emotions are connected to the gut. It’s also another brain. This one was random but I just put things I craved and named it my ‘messy bowl’- Poached egg, broccoli, carrots, organic rye bread and tinned mackerel.
4- Bring Love into your Home-
Sage the energy, light lovely incense, do some yoga, breathwork or something from your ‘self-love cup’. Journal how you feel and reframe it. I went for cards and my new Moon Bowl (thank you @blissfulbowllady).
There are others and I’m always open to other tips and collaborations.
This is one of the cards I drew and had I done so before my walk, I would have danced on the sand.
When you feel yourself being overwhelmed, lost or surrounded by the cloud, change your energy.
Thank you for reading and I hope this helps.
Reach out, I am here,
Love, Gratitude & Fluff,
Ali & Sasha
